Guru Coffee Shop is an absolute delight, offering perfectly baked quiche with fresh salad, crisp chips, and a dessert and coffee that are the perfect end to any meal. What makes this place truly special, though, are the lovely owners that are so friendly and welcoming. Their kindness, combined with the cosy atmosphere, makes this a must-visit spot for anyone in the area!
Stopped off on a 20 mile walk. For anyone who loves hot chocolate, my hubby said it was the best he had ever had along with the Rocky Road Chocolate Cake! My flat white was wonderful (they roast their own beans) and my Cherry Bakewell Cake was the the best I've ever had....and I've had a few!! Wonderful place and such lovely people!
Right along the NCN 1 cycle route - this was the perfect lunch spot! Locally-roasted delicious coffee. Several vegan options, and the lovely ladies working went above and beyond to accommodate my allergies. Even picked up some local goodies for the road. Highly recommend!
What a fantastic find! We stopped off here after walking to St Cuthbert’s Caves. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and thoughtful - no rush to make a decision but attentive. Clean space and despite it being small, managed to feel spacious, light and bright. Food was fab too. My only disappointment is that I live too far away to visit frequently!!
Really nice surprise find whilst deviating off the A1 due to roadworks. Four tables inside. Lots of lovely drinks and cakes and all sorts of other supplies. Delicious hot chocolate, Superb millionaire shortbread, quite fabulous lemon tart. The owner and her assistant are lovely ladies too.
Had a lovely lunch here today. Brilliant coffee, a delicious ham and cheese panini and a biscoff cheesecake. It’s already a must-stop for us when we’re travelling on the A1 - plenty gluten free options and dog friendly too!
This was our second visit, having previously called here 2 years ago when last holidaying in the area. We knew we wanted to include calling in here again when planning this year's hols. This is a 'small but perfectly formed' coffee shop/cafe. Good choice of meals including veggie & vegan options; lots of delicious bakes and cakes; excellent coffee menu; varied cold drink choice; and, my staple, very decent pots of tea!! The feel is warm & welcoming, and there is a nice selection of locally produced items perfect for holiday treats and gifts. The staff are great! Really friendly and kind. Can't recommend this little gem highly enough!!
Beautiful cafe, stopped off whilst cycling on NCN1...wonderful Hostess, great coffee and fantastic selection of cakes. Had the biggest teacake I've ever seen. Selection of gifts to buy too. Highly recommend a visit
